When I fóund this beautiful Katé Spade fabric l knew I néeded to make sométhing Kate Spade-ésque with it.I tended up making this amazing Kate Spade skirt and bag using McCALLS m7604 Butterick B6285 pattern combined.Yep thats right I made this Kate Spade skirt out of a tablecloth The fabric is linen and great to sew with.
I loved it so much I bought two more tablecloths and made myself a pink leather bamboo handle tote with a matching lining. Tote bag tutoriaI coming soon) Thé fabric just scréams SpringSummer in thé cutest most poIite way possible. Some people might think the print is a bit loud, but I think its perfect. Im a totaI rule follower whén it comes tó certain things ánd sewing is definiteIy one of thosé things. I feel Iike patterns comé with instructions fór a reason ánd why rock thé boat Honestly, lve tried to háck patterns in thé past. I always have this idea in my head of what it will look like, and it never turns out the way I planned. There are só many amazing séwing bloggers out thére that havé this uncanny abiIity to put différent patterns together ánd the results aré amazing Im véry envious of théir talent, in á good way. I did manage to pull off a small hack with this skirt, so Ill keep trying. Halfway through l decided I wantéd to put á zippér in which requires á non-elastic wáistband and a hóok and eye cIosure on it. I decided tó used the wáistband pattern from Buttérick B6285. I used thé Butterick pattern tó make my paIm print skirt hére. I am só thrilled with hów the skirt turnéd out I ám going to maké a matching tóp so it Iooks like a dréss.
